Mariposas

The women of AMAS created the sub-organization, Mariposas, with the purpose of building strong connections among members. The goal of Mariposas is to empower, educate and provide relevant activities for the members to participate in. Throughout the year, the Chairperson organizes fundraisers, invites guest speakers, seeks out volunteer opportunities and performs other duties to shape the women into well-rounded students and members. Paid, active members also have the opportunty to be elected or appointed to the position of Co-Chair to assist the Chairperson complete their duties.

An annual pinning ceremony is held to recognize active members who have contributed to the organization throughout the school year. During the ceremony, members receive butterfly brooches that differ based on the number of years the member has been active in the organization.

Hermanos

The men of AMAS formed the sub-organization, Hermanos, with the purpose of creating a brotherhood among members. In this brotherhood, members are treated equally and welcomed warmly no matter the background or interests of the member. Together, the Hermanos participate in fundraising, volunteering in the community and social events that promote bonding. Being a part of Hermanos gives our members a chance to meet other men they can relate to and allows members to be role models for each other.
