Rex Johnson, former AMAS Secretary
Hometown:New Braunfels TX What major/minors you graduated with: English Graduation date: 2011 and 2013 What have you been up to since graduation? In 2012 I started working as a counselor in the Financial Aid Office at UT Arlington. In December 2013, I received my Masters in Education: Student Development and Leadership in Higher Education. Then in 2014 I began working at a TRIO program called the Educational Opportunity Center (also at UT Arlington) as a "Community Education Specialist." And I am still there today. In this position, I help non-traditional students apply and enroll in college. Other than that, I've just been chillin'. Was there a faculty or staff member who influenced you and helped you while attending ASU? Lorina Soza in the Multicultural Center and Mary Escobar in the Financial Aid Office What advice do you have about life after graduation? Don't feel like you have to have your entire post-graduation life planned out. It's good to have an idea of whats you would like to do, but allow for some wiggle room. It may seem like other people in your life have everything together, but more often than not, they're making things up as they go.
